Well, I'm on week 3 of my husband being enjoying his long vacation in the desert. His internal clock is finally resetting itself, but now he has come down with a terrible cold. Most of his days are an average of 105 degrees with dust storms; the elements are testing his immunity.
I've managed to do a few things over the past 3 weeks that I haven't done before: mow the entire yard (it is a big job), kept the pool clear (not algae green), and learned to jump a car. My instructions were to start the car once a week to keep the battery fresh. That proved to not be enough. I then tried a twice weekly routine...to no avail. With the battery promptly charged, I'm starting it daily.
In the midst of managing the daily happenings of the house, hitting the gym (umm...childcare and peace), and working on my tan (unhealthy, I know), I needed to prepare a bedroom for a new exchange student. Yes, I am crazy. Our family decided to host a short-term exchange student for the month of July to spice it up a bit. Having our household shrink from 6 to 3 has been a bit.... quiet. Bring on the noise. Faustine, a French 15 year old, is to fly in on Tuesday. She says her english isn't fluent, but I'm just thrilled to have someone for the kids to talk to because I swear at any given moment, my ears will explode.

Alternate Titles
Today, my good friend Carie entered the world of blogging. After reading her introductory post, my wheels started to turn. What if I were to start a new blog? One of the most important steps is the blog name. What would I call it? For your entertainment purposes here is a list I came up with:
The Dripping Faucet
One More Coat of Paint
Grocery Shopping, Again
No Crying in Baseball
The Squeaky Violinist
Control F
No More Snacks
On the Calendar

Spicy, not Posh, Baby, or Scary
| You Are Cilantro |
![]() The good news is that most people love you more than anything else in the world. You are distinct, unusual, fresh, and very controversial. And you wouldn't have it any other way. |
